Safer Schools Together

This organization is supported by the Ministry of Education and they provide both in-class youth education and parent sessions including coming to Douglas. There are useful tools including digital media family contracts, protecting your privacy on Facebook, Social Media Check List and a list of inappropriate video games for kids.

Kids Help Phone – Resource Section:

This organization is an amazing resource to support kids and parents dealing with some difficult issues including bullying, cyber bullying, and suicide as well as promoting emotional well being.

This website contains detailed information about BC’s new curriculum and contains answers to these questions:

Peer Conflict or Bullying

When a child is having a problem with her or his peers, it can be hard for parents to know what is really happening – is it bullying? Or is it something else? Each type of behaviour must be handled differently, to keep children safe and help them learn how to get along with others.
